Believe Me, If All Those Endearing Young Charms is an excellent example of Dublin born Thomas Moore (1779-1852); singer, songwriter and satirist. Commonly attributed as a declaration of undying love to his wife Elizabeth (Bessy) Dyke, the poem is an excellent example of Romanticism.

At the time of his death in 1852, Moore’s Irish Melodies had already been translated into every European language as well as Hungarian, Polish and Russian. He was close personal friend to another giant of the period, Lord Byron.
